So, we’re pretty jealous of Perth right now. Jealous because it’s time for the 2011 Perth International Arts Festival and there’s just so much amazing stuff happening. No really, have a look at the website for the full program guide [here].

As a Perth native I (Kealey) have very fond memories of hanging out at the Becks Music Box on The Esplanade. It’s such a a lovely atmosphere, being at a wonderfully well-lit free venue listening to music on a balmy Perth night, alongside the river.

This year the Becks Music Box features acts like Martha Wainwright, The Public Opinion Afro Orchestra, Imelda May, Joanna Newsom, Best Coast, Caribou, and Four Tet.

Really, Perth, get down there for a drink or two. And if you’re not in Perth but have been thinking about stopping by some time to check it out - now is definitely the time to do so!
