We stumbled upon this article filled with ‘30 Amazingly Creative Examples of Designer Resumes’. We loved them. They’re all so creative. Check them out here.

Trillions!
Technology is pretty cool quite often. Definitely cool in the case of this camera that shoots at a trillion frames per second.
So, here’s some impressive maths. One trillion seconds equates to about 31688 years. This camera captures waves of light in real time. Soooo cool.

Improv where?
You’ve probably seen a stack of videos by the Improv Everywhere crew on YouTube. They’re the guys that pull off hilarious skits and flashmobs in public places to entertain and freak out the general public - and they’re great.
Now they’re putting together a documentary about the work they do! Check out the trailer.
We’re looking forward to watching the doco when...

What will your life look like in 45 years?
Ever wondered what you’ll look like 45 years from now? Or how many hairstyles you might go through within that time?
‘Chickflashwhirr’ has started a pretty cool blogging project - she’s decided to take a photo of herself every day for 45 years. She’s been doing this for around 5 years so far, and has made all of the photos into a video. Watch her past 5 years flash...

banksy goes classical.
Amongst Liverpool’s collection of classic art in the Walker Art Gallery you can now find its latest addition - a Bansky statue. The bust of a priest with a pixelated face entitled ‘Cardinal Sin’, appears to be a comment on corruption and scandal in the Church. Unlike his previous works in other museums around the world where he was heavily disguised and planted them without...

Ribbonesia!
There are some awesome projects on display on the Baku Maeda website. These guys are super creative and their little slice of the Internet is a perfect tool for inspiration and/or procrastination.
Our favourite project from the Baku Maeda crew is Ribbonesia. Little animals, flowers and shapes made out out ribbon in a style that almost looks like origami. We want to have a go at making some of...
Important information for noodle enthusiasts!
This very interesting and informative infographic shows us the best shapes and sizes of instant noodle cups for avoiding spillages. The graphic comes from an article titled ‘Why Burn Doctors Hate Instant Soup’. Apparently instant noodle cups send people to hospital with burns every day! Beware, uni students. Please make sure you eat your cup noodles safely, and in an upright...
Nik & Ned
We absolutely love this short doco about Nik and Ned, a man and his dog who live in the Melbourne CBD and travel by cycling together!
Postiche Portraits
The Museum of Helsinki has a publication out called ‘The Postiche Collection’. It features interpretations and replicas of postiche pieces for facial hair throughout time.
We think these papier-mache and fabric version are very witty, and the portrait series is great. Check out more of the photos here.
This is the best thing ever.
You absolutely must go over to wandermonster.com because it will totally make your day.
WanderMonster is a site run by Rob Kimmel and his 8 year old son, Ben. Each day, Rob draws half of a picture and writes half of a story on a piece of paper and puts it into Ben’s lunchbox. Each day, Ben completes the drawing and the story and some awesome ‘lunch post’ comics are born!

Images of 2011
It’s been such a huge year. Just so much has happened.
We were very moved by this collection of 45 images from this year. Some are heartbreaking, others full of hope. Check them out here.
What's that meme?
We stumbled upon this video, and had no idea what was happening. There was a lady we didn’t recognise reenacting a stack of YouTube memes, and it was gold. After some digging around we discovered it was the work of Swedish entertainer ‘Judit & Judit’ for a promotional campaign by cable provider Com Hem in Sweden.
Regardless of it’s purpose, it’s pretty funny....
Internships in 2012
The end of 2011 is fast approaching. We’ve had a great year, slowing down to re-look at the magazine’s direction and design. We’ve done a lot of thinking about where Thelma is headed in the future, and we’re ready to start that journey.
Would you like to be involved?
We’re looking for helpers!
In January we’ll be interviewing for a few special people to come...

Sean Young's 'Blade Runner' Polaroids
During filming for the masterpiece Blade Runner, Sean Young used her Polaroid camera to capture life behind-the-scene with her co-stars and crew. She has now posted the amazing personal collection of images onto her website for everyone to enjoy. To see all the Polaroids, check out her website right here.
Origami!
Our friends at Metta Scents have a window full of folded paper cranes, which is super awesome and colourful. But they’ve also shown us this website they found that has instructional videos on how to make some really cute paper animals.
It shows you how to fold everything from dogs and bats, to a special ‘polar’ collection including seals and penguins.
We love it....

So, Thelma is made almost entirely at a coworking space in Richmond called Inspire9. The people at Inspire9 are incredibly fun, even more supportive, and pretty good at playing Dance Dance Revolution, Little Big Planet, and shooting Nerf guns at each other. They’re also an unbelievably talented bunch of people who make awesome suff for the intrwebs.
Every second Friday, these people...

Don't palm us off!
We’ve got some bad news! The Australian Senate Community Affairs Legislative Committee has rejected the call for the mandatory labelling of palm oil on food products.
This sucks.
Palm oil isn’t labelled on food or products at the moment, even though it’s in almost half the products in supermarkets. It can be labelled as vegetable oil - which makes it sound a lot healthier that...
Man boots!
We’re hoping to be able to feature more menswear and other man-related things in Thelma in the future. We like equality, y’know? So in the spirit of dudes - here are some pretty awesome Vegan mens’ shoes. (Though we think this pair of boots could work as a unisex solution to footwear, if you’re into the look of them).
This range of shoes was made as a collaboration...

Have you read issue four yet?
Well, have you?
Everyone deserves to feel safe.
Today I’m wearing an over-sized tshirt, a skirt, 90 denier tights, sensible flat black shoes, and a coat that basically covers up everything neck down to my knees.
It’s not exactly a ‘tarty’ outfit. The only part of my skin that you can see is my face, and my hands, but even those were covered by gloves until I took them off to type this blog.
What I’m wearing is...
Spirit of the Black Dress
We’re so close to releasing the new Thelma (after a whole bunch of website re-builds).
While you wait, check out this little video we threw together at the media launch of The Spirit of the Black Dress a few weeks back. Issue four features each of the ten designers from the SOTBD exhibition, so hang tight to see what they had to say about their designs, and sustainability in fashion!

Late again! Be right back!
It’s not the first time we’ve been late to publish an issue of Thelma, and we’re sorry, but issue four of Thelma is going to be a couple of days late. We’ve been working pretty hard on this issue. You can look forward to a bunch of fun stuff in issue four, though! We’ve got interviews with Imogen Heap and Lovefoxxx from Cansei De Ser Sexy, a feature on each of the...
but, butt.
We could try to insert some clever pun about butts, nudity, or doodles here. But we won’t.
Last weekend, we went to the park and happened upon this group of nude cyclists.
They were participating in 2011’s Melbourne edition of the World Naked Bike Ride - read about it at the Wikipedia page here: wikipedia.org/World_Naked_Bike_Ride
Of course, we had our camera phones with us, so we...
up and away
Disney’s ‘Up’ - let’s be honest, we cried at least four times during the film. The old man loses the love of his life within the first few minutes. Then there’s that line from the dog, “I was hiding under your porch because I love you”.
Aside from the tears, the movie is really visually beautiful. And now, the guys at National Geographic have created a...
aren't these cute?
We’ve just stumbled upon these awesome dinosaur-indoor-plants on Etsy. They’re made by Plaid Pigeon, and we love them. You’ll know from our video on how to make terrariums in issue three (watch it here) that we adore plants, and think this is a pretty great idea!

How many coffees will you drink this week?
Perth International Arts Festival
So, we’re pretty jealous of Perth right now. Jealous because it’s time for the 2011 Perth International Arts Festival and there’s just so much amazing stuff happening. No really, have a look at the website for the full program guide [here].
As a Perth native I (Kealey) have very fond memories of hanging out at the Becks Music Box on The Esplanade. It’s such a a...
